Dartmoor Vale 2007

THIS will be the fifth year of the Dartmoor Vale.  We offer four running events – Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10 Kilometre road race and Fun Run – so there is something for everyone.

It is becoming increasingly popular, with almost one third more runners participating last year.  With a couple of months still to go, we are expecting another increase to over 1,000 runners.  Already, we have as many runners registered for the Marathon as ran last year.  This is the Devon County Championship, so a must for everyone who runs this distance.

We are changing the route to take in more of our beautiful countryside.  Enjoy the quiet country lanes through Gappah and Fosterville.  The races start and finish at Newton Abbot Racecourse, which provides all the facilities that we could ask for.

The Fun Run is an entirely safe event, using a tarmac track on the inside of the racecourse.  It is suitable for everyone from small child to great grandma.  Fancy dress welcome!

Whether you are a serious runner or not, there is a race that will suit you.  Come along as a family and join in the fun!  Better still, raise some money for charity – last year’s event raised over £13,000 for good causes.

So come along to Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday October 21.  The main races start at 9.15am and the Fun Run at 10am. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a family festival of running.
